If you do some searching online perhaps through http://www.google.com for Myers-Briggs and introspection that may shed some light. You might also find some of the exceperts posted at http://www.undoingdepression.com may shed some light for you and/or generate more questions....

Noa's recommendation on reading about Flow is good too. If you do a search on-line under the author's name or Flownetwork (I think that's it) you can find lots of info. on-line about that too...
