Once again you are making broad generalizations, which may not be as true as you think they are... What you are describing sounds like a combination of introspection and obsessing, both of which you seem to be demonstrating by dwelling upon. There are higher degrees of introspective tendencies who become depressed perhaps because one has links to the other. And a tendency of depression is obsessive introspection ie. - rumination...

However folks you describe as drones sometimes become depressed as do extroverts who tend to be more outwardly than inwardly focused, when not depressed, generally. The picture is a bit more complex than you tend to paint it...however I shall not drone on or dwell on this, further...
