Yes I agree that as long as one is conscious of one's own issues, then one can keep them from interferring with the work with patients. Analysts have to go through analysis, and my therapy years ago and not is indepth psychoanalytically informed, and so this works for me because, yes, I am more aware of my stuff and where it comes from and can also be in a position to change myself.
