Could be that he's as broken up about this as you are, and perhaps the hurt and confusion is making him so upset that he seems angry. Maybe he would love for you to re-establish contact. Have you tried e-mailing him? He might feel pretty abandoned himself (and might have abandonment issues of his own), and really want you to be part of his life again, whether you can bring yourself to believe that or not.
