Excellent question~ God Himself is Spirit..and also invisible.

Kinda like us not being able to "see" the wind..but we can sure see, hear and feel it's effects, and know it is real.

There is great news though...Jesus Christ was the very embodiment of God while He was in the flesh.
God's Word says it better that I ever could:

John 1:18
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

John 10:30
I and my Father are one.

John 6:46 KJV
Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.

Colossians 1:15
( Jesus)Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

1 Timothy 1:17
Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is , and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
