NAC is readily available at vitamin/supplement suppliers, and is quite inexpensive when sourced there. It sounds like you got it in a literal prescription filled by a pharmacist. I can imagine that would have cost you dearly.
I had no idea that it had found a supporting role in mental health treatment. Here's a nice summary article for y'all.

I think I'll boost my dose, after reading about the diverse health benefits arising from supplementation, not the least of which includes maintaining insulin sensitivity.
