Hello new here came across your thread on Multivitamins.
I have definitely experienced a problem of low mood/depression from taking multivitamins but I managed to isolate the offender. In my case it was Cyanocobalamin which is synthetic (Cheap) vitamin B12. I have also noticed this in the injectable multi B vitamins. Now if I get any B12 it is the natural form of methylcobalamin. My further inquiries have led me to find that this is pretty common. I also suspect folic acid is a problem for me and have been tested for the gene mutation that causes a lack of ability to assimilate folic acid. I also suspect the B12 and folic acid problems are related. Anyway it doesnt seem that your particular Multi has these compounds. BUT, I also suspect a problem with the other forms of Vitamin b12 that are not Methylcobalamin, eg adeno?? or dibeco?? something like that, because I tried those too and was not really happy with the results. There is another thing that B12 is poorly absorbed through the gut and really needs to be sublingual or injection or patch. Personally I have had great success with probiotics to treat depression and also vitamin status, but only the good ones, not just over the counter types. I guess my purpose of adding this is that yes you can definitely find that multivitamins can make things worse. I usually try to add the vitamins or other supplements seperately and see what the effect of each one is. also do your research to see what forms of each vitamins are reccomended by others.
