I understand that a lot of nutritionists reccomend a lot more than that for people, and the lowlimit for the amount found in supplements was set long ago under fawlty reasoning. (per Atkins)

It can help cognitive fonctions, neural devolopment and some kind of depressions. But I konow that It has bad for some anxiety disorders and ocd. You can read this page:
