I've taken Evening Primrose Oil for years for PMS. It works very well for that, but I never noticed a specific antidepressant or anxiolytic effect. People have said that it's much more calming than fish oil and that it can work synergistically with it. Don't take my word for it though. I think that I read it somewhere on this site.
