I'm not really sure as I have found it VERY difficult to get info on the exact actions of chinese herbal medications. There are resources that give an overview but as to specifics - I find it difficult to find that. Most sources I've seem have its actions similar to gingseng and dong quai in terms of a "youthful tonic". Interaction info seems to be difficult to find, too.
Folks on alternative may be of help.
