I took Effexor for 2 years and am in the middle of trying to go off of it. (go to "withdrawals" psycho babble site for more info). I'd suggest you research alternatives to Effexor XR. Yes, it helped me with depression/anxiety. BUT, going off of it is terrible---it is a MAJOR drug that your body gets addicted to. If you read the "withdrawals" threads, you will understand. Honestly, unless you are suicidal, I would look into the many alternative/natural remedies on this site--like ST. John's Wort, 5-HTP, etc. At least if they don't work and you go to get off of them, you will not SUFFER as people do getting off Effexor.
SExually, it will definitely diminish your desire. So, again, look into other alternatives, that's my 2 cents!
