Tom:
I have never combined SAM-e with an SSRI, or other anti-depressant, anti-convulsant, anti-anxiety pharmaceutical. I only took it alone, or combined with fish oil, which was like, nothing. Fish oil has never done anything for me either, and I've taken it in relatively large doses. I don't know how SAM-e would interact with SSRIs, but since it seems pretty weak to me to begin with, probably wouldn't have a huge impact. To me, SAM-e is like an extremely mild Wellbutrin, so it would seem to go better with some of the more "sedating" SSRIs, Celexa, Lexapro, etc. My primary condition is GAD and OCD. Have you had any luck with any other supplements for your condition?
All the best,
ChrisHello Chris,

I had a good response taking 400 mg/day right away, but eventually I began ramping up due to poop out. I eventually gave up on taking SAMe as a front line AD due to the cost. Well, since then, there are ways to get SAMe significantly cheaper, but I'm still running into the same problem (poop out). I'm wondering if I should go all the way to 2000 mg/day. Have you ever had success taking SAMe with an AD?
