Niacinamide etc.

I also take niacinamide once in a while for social anxiety - knocks it right on the head! However, then I don't say very much when I go out if I take it. Oh well, you can't have it all I suppose.

I also like evening primrose oil and holy basil extract for anxiety. In fact recently I've narrowed my supplements (apart from general vitamins) to these plus my high dose fish oil, and also the usual 5htp before bed. I really am sleeping very well at the moment. Can't remember the last time that happened (when I was 4??).

The 5htp does make me a little confused if I wake up (and also gives me some mild waking hallucinations), but that is a very small price to pay for the rock-like sleep. Note, sleep has only become rock-like after few months on fish oil. 5htp alone helps, but doesn't produce the full effects on sleep without the fish oil.

I'm going to do another test with niacinamide; I would have done one before, but I was waiting for the anxiety to kick in, and so far with the fish oil I've only had a few bad days, so I haven't had a good testing ground for it.

I'm wondering about liver issues with B3. I've heard conflicting opinions. Brain Chemistry Plan says to be careful with niacinamide form, where as everyone else (like here) thinks it is the normal B3 niacin flush form that causes problems in high doses.

As eczema sometimes can involve the body having too many toxins to get rid of, I am wondering if taking too many vitamins like high-dose B3 would put more of a strain on my system - hence the worsening of the eczema. If any strain is placed on the liver, that would explain the eczema getting worse, as the skin has to get rid of more toxins. (oh no, I'm starting to sound like one of those people obsessed with 'cleansing' their systems to get rid of the dreaded toxins!).
