Hi,
I feel too dead to try to understand at present ...everythings a blur...
but I don't think I'd be able to help much. I put most of my limited understanding in those posts yesterday on the board.
Not sure if You've read the ones not directed to you..like all the ones to mmb?
I was trying to get across that maybe things like a lowered estrogen (probably) would cause problems with glutamate and references as to why..also a slightly lowered adrenal or thyroid function. Although oestrogen can't be the entire answer or else all women over say 55 would be in trouble..oh unless they had large fat stores I guess?), and that still doesn't explain your extrasensitivity to calcium either!Heck, I haven't even figured out what a excitotoxin really is/means etc <g>.
I know I have this oxidation /elevated nitric oxide/peroxynitrite/ problems as in Dr Pall...hey the whole 4 causes <g> and that probably has something to do with my nitrate/nitrite/elevated nitric oxide problems I had on here last year after those dental anesthestics.
My calcium problems are almost the opposite of yours <g>
I got my BMD(bone mineral density) test back. (3rd one)
In my 30's I was Z=-1.7 on average..hip area (osteopenia(Z=-1.0 to -2.5, osteoporosis is Z=-2.5 )
By taking calcium supps, increasing dairy and exercising more I managed to get it up to Z=-1.1 by my next test( less than 3 months after starting thyroid meds..as a baseline).
This test(couple of weeks ago)..3 years after starting thyroid meds (Armour) levels only the same Z=-1.2..and I drink a lot more dairy, take calcium/mag supps daily..even twice a day sometimes..get heaps of VitD, take oestrogen, and increased exercis a lot, for a couple of years had extra weight and now walk with a pack on (filled with water bottles for part of the walk)..so exercise with weight , right?I'm still premenopause or perimenopausal now. What else can I do?
When I trebled my estrogen(just for a test for two weeks, and doubled my calcium supps blood calcium levels rose from 2.40 to 2.44 (corrected calc from 2.41 to 2.48)
I think average is around 2.50..although I'm always in the normal range.I get , if anything, too much VitD..the temperature here last week reached 104F, no cloud
I was hoping to build up my bone before menopause.
I get a bit concerned as my teeth are just like breaking off in pieces or dissolving ..fillings last about 2 years then my tooth crumbles below them
Have to go now
Jan
