A theory on the Tryptophan debate

Posted by Ogopogo on November 4, 2003, at 11:34:38

Hi all this is my first post on dr. Bob and even though I am no expert on health related issues I do have a theory as far as this issue is concerned. Seratonin helps signals across the snyapse in neurons correct? So isn't it possible all the muscle problems that arise from the tryptophan are just because the dose is way to high? I hear everyone taking 500-1000 mg pills of this whereas I am taking 50 mg 5-HTP from Natrol... and honestly haven't felt this happy since I was around 6 years of age. Perhaps your brain can be overloaded with the surplus of seratonin produced and go into shock. Just a theory anyways... Like I said I am no specialist.
