Ive had ECT. 14 treatments so far. it has affected my short term memory. but it hasnt been that bad. its benefits have far outweighed any drawbacks. my mood has really improved from the ECT. since ive had terrible experience with medications, i think id prefer ECT over antidepressants. the worst side effects ive had are with my last 2 treatments, ive had a headache and stomach ache afterwards that lasted a couple hour.
but i would recommend ECT. it hasnt been a big deal like it is made out to be.
