I have very little true experience. Tegretol (especially the better tolerated prolonged release tabs) are often prescribed in the UK, mainly for epilepsy. It is usually fairly well tolerated provided that the dose is adjusted very carefully. Trileptal is hardly used here at all, for any indication!
