I've never had a flu shot.
But then they made us get our shots for physio... And part of that was taking the opportunity to educate us about the things we were required to be immunised against... And the things we weren't... But could choose to be...We were told that immunisation wasn't so much about protecting the person who was immunised. In our cases, anyway. Immunisation was about preventing the spread of disease in order to protect those who are most vulnerable: The young. The old. Those with compromised immune systems.
So... To think of it more as public service or charity rather than self interest.
I never thought of it like that before.
But I've never had a flu shot. And... I probably won't. Sigh. Maybe one day when I'm richer.
