Joe,

I'm male, and I took Paxil for a few months for my fatigue, hypersomnia, and related symptoms, which at the time were diagnosed as dysthymic disorder. I eventually stopped taking the medication because I experienced a cyclical response to it that involved going back and forth between feeling more fatigued than usual and feeling either euthymic or hypomanic (depending on what dose I was taking). The cycling stopped after I discontinued the medication. The cycling response to SSRI medications is fairly typical for me.

I don't think that I gained any weight while I was taking Paxil, but that's not to say that others won't.

T.
