Severe anxiety - Buspar added

Posted by Sheilac on August 9, 2013, at 7:52:33

After not being able to wake up in the middle of the night due to a family emergency, I weaned myself off Geodon and Trileptal. I've kept the night melatonin and 2mg a day of Klonopin.

Problem is that I am having severe anxiety and panic attacks now. I think the Trileptal really helped with the anxiety, it just caused some depression.

Saw pdoc yesterday and she suggested Buspar. So far, not impressed. I took 10mg yesterday and my morning 5mg today, but was so full of panic, my heart rate went up and I had to take Klonopin before I could do anything. No caffeine either.

I am thinking more clearly. I don't think the Buspar helped with sleep at all.

I'm supposed to get up to 20mg a day.

I can't take too many more mornings and days with severe anxiety.

I also noticed that Buspar wears off after about 3-4 hours!

I'm thinking about adding back in a low dose of Trileptal at night to help with anxiety. Not sure how long Trileptal stays in the body, but I can't wake up in severe panic like this and wait a couple weeks for Buspar to kick in if it ever does.

I feel like I'm going crazy.

Is it possible that Buspar can make me feel more alert and help with depression, but not so much for anxiety? Same thing happened to me on antidepressants.

I've got to get some sleep and wake up calm. I don't know if I'm going to pass out or throw up. The anxiety is awful.
