I took it for about six months at a dose of 600mg/day. I'm not sure how quickly it started to work. I started at 300 mg for a month or two with moderate success. I found the dosage increase to 600 mg helped very quickly, within 2-3 days. I found it very stimulating and had chronic insomnia on it. I could take 100 mg of benadryl or doxylamine and still toss and turn. I needed benzos to sleep: 2 mg ativan. It pooped out after 6 months unfortunately. But it was pretty good while it lasted. I would say actually that it made me a little hypomanic. I lost about 15 lbs without trying.
