I'm only taking the trazodone for insomnia. I'm not depressed, and antidepressants don't work on social anxiety.

I ha a doc tell me wellbutrin wouldn't do anything for sexual dysfunction for me because it only works at that by increasing dopamine, and I'm already on Vyvanse. Is it possible this is an over-simplification, and Wellbutrin does more than this?

I've tried Claritin, and it didn't do anything, so I'm not sure cyproheptadine would work. I've taken Buspar years ago for anxiety and had to go off it-- it gave me akathisia.

I can't take Effexor anymore because I need my brain to heal.

I'm concerned Remeron might just take it that much longer to heal, because isn't it also just another SSRI, or is it a partial dopamine agonist?

Anyway, I need something sedating, but it seems like the only things that work are controlled meds that my doc won't prescribe, because my doc is the type who doesn't prescribe hypnotics or benzos.

I have sexual dysfunction from Effezor-- is Remeron going to let me heal from that, or is it enough like effexor to prolong the damage? I vaguely think i recall it's sometimes used for sex dysfunction-- isn't it a partial dopamine agonist?

I am not sure about the capacity of Remeron to reduce sexual impairments. If arousal and anorgasmia are issues, cyproheptadine (Periactin) can be taken just before having sex. It can be sedating, though. Periactin and Remeron both antagonize 5-HT2a/c receptors. However, Periactin also antagonizes 5-HT2b receptors, which is an important property to improve sexual function.
