I've been on and off amisulpride several times. Personally I found it to make only a small dent in the actual depressed mood, but made a large dent in the dysthymia part of it. In other words, even if I was still down and out, at least I could actually sit down and get interested in something and do something. It did help with the depression too, just not with the kind of power that the clinical studies might suggest. Except for the sexual side effects that some people can get with it, I am a fan of amisulpride. I still use it once in a while just as a single dose because it can kick in within just a few hours and have me feeling a lot better. I find it very effective for short term or sporadic use, but not for longterm. But....that's just me.. It's likely to be different with someone else. I've actually never been on it longterm, more than about 3 weeks, due the sexual side effects I had. If it would work on day 2, 3, and forever the same way it works on day one I would be one happy camper. It is one of the very few meds I keep in my emergency toolbox.
