You don't have to monitor BP and heart rate. The only problem parnate causes with BP is postural hypotension. This means BP can drop suddenly when you've been lying or sitting for a long time, then get up quickly. If you just take the time to get up slowly, there's no problem at all. And it only lasts a minute or two and tends to go away over time (at least it did for me). It's not like parnate messes with your heart rate or BP otherwise. I exercise regularly and have no problems whatsoever. I've been depression free for over a year on parnate.

Also, mixing meds is not recommended. Neither TCAs or SSRI's or even most AAPs can mix with parnate. But if parnate works, so what? I would try it. I have had no sexual side effects at all (but then I didn't have them on SSRIs either). Also, no weight gain unlike other psych drugs.

As for the washout period -- if your current AD isn't working, what's the problem with stopping it and waiting a couple of weeks to start a drug that has a better chance of working?
