anti-depressants

Posted by olivia12 on August 7, 2010, at 14:31:40

Yes, anti-depressants have side effects, but please consider the outcome as a whole. I do believe they have made my life much more manageable. It irritates me when so many people just talk about what the meds have done to them--wouldn't these same people be complaining about how bad it all is with or without the drug? I suspect that, yes, they would. People need to stop expecting these meds to be magical--they are not--they are just an aid to allow better days. Some AD are better than others and it is a very individual experience, but it is hard to read through all of this and gain any kind of insight when so many are just swallowed up in this negative bent. Granted, we are talking about depressed people posting (myself included) and so I guess this may be a moot point. With that being said, please step back and try to see what good these pills might have done for you and your quality of life.
