While taking 6mg/dy Xanax at the same time. Yep, my pdoc was a total idiot croaker. I finally saw a good doc, who told me "of COURSE you're having panic attacks! You have PANIC DISORDER and you are taking AMPHETAMINES! That's like coming to me with insomnia and then 'just mentioning' that you drink 8-10 cups of coffee before bed!" You MUST get off the speed if you want the anxiety to go away!
He was soooo right! The Xanax started doing its job 3 days after quitting the Vyvanse and I was even able to halve my dosage of the Xanax! Vyvanse CAUSES you to have anxiety attacks more effectively than nearly anything besides for breathing pure CO2 and smoking methamphetamine. Vyvanse throws your body into an immediate "flight or flight" reaction that your body reserves for when you are being attacked. What a GREAT drug, huh? I've seen it work for children but almost EVERY adult ADHD person I've seen it scripted to has the precise effects that you are...including me, my fiancee, her Mom, and about 6 friends.
BTW, forget about your sex drive on Vyvanse also. It's not gonna come back until you stop taking that crap.
I don't understand--it's not that physically addictive and you can get off of Vyvanse in a few days of sleep. Perhaps you should try a VERY small dose of Adderall (like 10mg/day or 1 20mg XR) or, better yet, 30mg of methylphenidate (Ritalin) sustained release (like Concerta) if ADHD is a problem. Generally, extended-release Ritalin is a Godsend for adult ADHD--you can have sex again, no more sweating, and no more of that damn ANXIETY!!!
If you take amphetamines, please trust me on this: anxiety and panic and eventual psychosis will become your way of life. Why risk it? I went to college for psychopharmacology (but got bored with it after four years and stayed another two years to get my degree in Organic Chem). I worked for the company that makes Adderall (Shire). They know PRECISELY what it, Vyvanse, and Dextrostat do. Please be careful!
