In reply to Xanax more toxic in overdose, posted by sukarno on March 17, 2010, at 0:45:15
my friend's overdose, although it was almost 14 years ago, was very traumatic. I remember how heartless the emergency medics were when they arrived. Perhaps they have a prejudice and think she was a "drug addict", which she was not. All I remember is I panicked when following the advice of the operator on the emergency line to try to rub her breastbone or whatever it was to try to get her to respond (to test her reflexes) and it didn't work.
I remember crying and panicking, thinking she would die, when ER medics arrived. They just said, "what's wrong with him?" and shrugged.
Obviously they had little sympathy for her (and my) plight at that moment.
She was a victim of abuse as a child and disclosed this to me later as the reason for her suicide attempt.
