I'm taking amitriptyline about twice a week, somewhere between 25mg and 50mg each time. I take the ritalin as needed, no more than 5mg every other day or so.
The amitriptyline seems to just hit the core sadness/worthlessness cluster better. The nortriptyline seemed to help the mood a little but it didn't make me feel like myself. The amitriptyline gives me these snapshots where I really feel like me...."there I am!!.....where the hell did I go?". I feel this really solid sense of normal well being. The nortriptyline made me feel.......hollow.
