Well, it's actually not theory at all Phillipa if we look at the stories of those whos depression happened to vanish when they treated their illness thoroughly. The web and forums and journals and TV shows are packed full of these fascinating accounts.

They are only theories in the eyes of scientists, doctors, researchers, and pessimists. They are already fact in the lives of real patients.

Not to make it sound like everyone who pinpoints their illness and treats it will be free of some kind of depression treatment, because sometimes permanent organic damage happens. One guy for example was cured of all his strange ails with LDN, but still had some lingering depression. It took a daily dose of DLPA to completely overcome that, kicking in rapidly and completely (not unusual once the illness is out of the way). Prior to that, trials of DLPA for him were troublesome and unrewarding.
