Why Parnate?

Posted by zana on August 19, 2009, at 9:54:38

I have been on meds for over 20 years for MDD. At first prozac was like a miracle. When that pooped out I started the typical long and tortuous trip through all the ADs, the AP's,stimulants, mood stabilizers, you get the picture. I am currently on:
Pristiq
Wellbutrin
Remeron
Provigil
Gabapentin
Klonopin
Rispidal
Seroquel
I would say I am in partial remission. I am out of bed but not experiencing much, OK no real happiness and don't feel motivated to do anything.
I tried the Emsam patch and had a pretty good response but had to discontinue it because I developed a rash in my mouth. Is there any reason to think that Parnate would work better?
I'm willing to try anything but it would take so long to get off what I'm on and I just don't see any guarantee that Parnate would be more effective. So I'm curious as to why people are such big proponents of Parnate.
Thanks
Zana
