Citalprofram may not be right for him. Also meds aren't for everyone. Many AD's can make everything much worse. I personally don't like SSRI's.
They can increase cortisol and adrenalin to the point of exhaustion
Inhibit melatonin and thus sleep.
Decrease dopamine and increase prolactin.
Decrease LH,FSH and testosterone.
Decrease growth hormone(some kids in puberty don't grow when they take SSRIs)
Decreased testosterone, growth hormone, increased cortisol or adrenal fatigue can furtherly decrease thyroid hormones.
This negative impact on hormones can cause insulin resistance and furthur wreck havoc on hormones and neurotransmittesr.
Cause sexual side effects, sleeplessness, akathsia, anxiety.
All in all he may be wiser man for not sticking it out.
