Dopamine is the bomb--that's why people snort coke, smoke cigarettes, and all kinds of other things.
When I took Wellbutrin on its own, it rocketed me straight out of a suicidal depression. Sure, I was sleepless and hypomanic, but I felt wonderful.
I can definitely see why people struggling with emotional flatness and lack of motivation need more dopamine.
I feel that all of this stuff is in its infancy. In 20 years or so they'll find out that one particular neurotransmitter isn't the whole story.
