You've described exactly how I've been over the last six months or so - terrified of facing up to responsibility and unable to do certain basic things because of accociated fear and anxiety.
I too often feel on the edge of a precipice - like reality could propel me into deep anxiety and depression at any moment.
Let me know if you have any luck with mood stabilisers or any other course of action!
