You see, it's relative to everyone experience. The Gabapentin dont have a long half-life, so it's why you need to take a huge amount of pills every 3 or 4 hours...I also take the maximum dosage of 3600mg /day with no sedation at all. The fact that the half-life of the Gabapentin is short, it's less suitable as a sleep aid!!! It's probably why someone who will use it as a sleep aid will sleep only 3-4 hours in a row and need to get up and take another extra dose to sleep again... For the drunk feeling or anxiolitic effect of the Gabapentin, that's also relative to each person who use the Gabapetin, for me, it does nothing, I never get any improve on it, I don't even feel something on it, I just experienced a lot of pins and needles all over my bodies when I was in a situation of social anxiety...

The Lyrica have a more long half-life and put me asleep A LOT more than the Gabapentin... This is probably the more logical choice as a sleep aid...

If you can take the Seroquel (regular version) it's also very good and don't make you feel sick the day after, start maybe at 25mg/bedtime and you can augment it to 50mg/bedtime...

That's my advice...We are all different, so that's my experience with gaba-B meds...
