This is what my experience with ph levels have been. The reason I started the thread on ph levels is because I had read in several books on anxiety disorders (and I have alot of them)to always have your ph levels monitored. High amounts of stress on the body for a number of years can lead to a highly acidic ph, which can cause anxiety to be worse.

Low Ph levels can also set your body up for all kinds of illnesses. (auto-immune diseases and cancers)

Also, Dr. Robert Young (book he wrote is "Ph Miracle") says the same thing. You can google him for more info. He seems very credible. I saw a show on him not to long ago. One of his patients (I forgot her name), but she wrote a book called "Crazy, Sexy Cancer". She went to him when she came down with cancer of the liver. Her ph levels were very low and for cancer of the liver to go into remission is very rare.

While following his diet and lifestyle changes, her cancer went into remission.

In my case, my ph balance was when I first tested it was below 4.5, which is considered dangerously low for that long a period. When I asked my GP about it, he said generally ph levels should be between 6.75 to 7.25, but that 6.0 was O.K. because you want your body to be a little more acidic than alkaline.

I have always had problems with low hormone levels, which made my ph levels even lower. My body threw itself into adrenal fatigue. I was so acidic for so long that my body quit absorbing any minerals or vitamins. At 41, I have osteoporosis although I have always taken plenty of supplements, had a good diet and have always been very athletic, my body stopped absorbing. I was FLOORED. When I had bloodwork done I am deficient in calcium, vitamin D and K.

When my acidic levels were so low, when I would sweat, it was like acid hitting my skin and it would burn really bad and would look awful.

I think I saw a post on this thread that a 4.0 range is acceptable, but thats not what I have read. I can give you references, if you like.

I was already a vegetarian, but changed up my diet to be at least 80% raw. I also drink a mixture of sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium bicarbonate powder in 6 ounces of water everyday. It's called PHour Salts on Dr. Young's web-site. But you can also drink a mixture of baking soda in water also.

I can honestly say that physically, after following this diet for about 6 months now, I feel a whole lot better. I can also tell now when my ph levels are low. My energy levels drop and my skin will start to burn and I just don't feel good overall.

Mentally, I feel a little more on edge when they are to low. I am also trying to hit this GAD and agoraphobia at every angle possible. So I figure that me trying to keep things balanced isn't going to hurt anything.

I see that a number of people here have some medical experience and have their own opinions. I have two years of med school and this is just my opinion and my own personal experience.
