Hi everyone,
I saw my psychiatrist yesterday who is now going to start me on lithium (if my blood tests come through OK). I'm currently on 150mg Amitriptyline and 35mg Buspirone
My diagnosis is: fairly severe GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder), panic disorder, social phobia and moderate depression.
To date, I've tried:
Seroxat (Paxil)
Prozac
Lustral (Zoloft)
Cipralex (Lexapro)
Remeron
Effexor
Promazine
Sodium Valproate
Amisulpride
Zyprexa
Seroquel
Stelazine
HaloperidolI've also been on 10mg of Valium for a few years - don't take if every day, just when my anxiety is really bad.
As you can see, I've been through quite a few meds which haven't really helped (apart from the Valium). My psychiatrist has tried the more obvious meds and is now looking at 2nd/3rd line treatments - hence the lithium.
He plans to keep me on the Amitriptyline / Buspirone and introduce 300mg lithium - quite a cocktail!
Anyone else had good results from lithium for anxiety??
