Oh, I'm pretty familiar with this problem! I've wasted years of my life stewing over work issues. In my case, it's more the environment than me, but I think the solution is the same.

You have to learn to set emotional boundaries. For instance, after reading an email that could set you off, just decide you're not going to get worked up about it. Distract yourself. Remind yourself of what your main focus is--yourself and your health. This takes many hard decisions over the course of time; you have to keep at it.

Of course, I could never do this were I not on medication. The meds make me feel so much better that I am able to exert that kind of control over my thought processes and emotions--which I could NEVER have done before. I see now why they say a combo of therapy and meds is more effective than either alone.

It is also possible that the work drama is meeting needs you're not getting met elsewhere. For instance it doesn't sound like you have much drama in your personal relationships (a good thing!) Lots of us need drama, you know? We need battles, an arena to fight and win or lose in. I think coming up against big challenges and fighting is a basic human need. Wasn't that what Fight Club was about? I'm female, but I identify with that film.

But there are healthier ways to get that need met. Run a marathon, kickbox, poker tournaments...you get the idea :)
