symbyax isn't the first time a fixed combo of antidepressant+tranquilizer has been used...first there were Triavil (Elavil and Trilafon) and Limbitrol (Elavil and Librium)...
I think you're right that the Prozac/Zyprexa combo is pretty extensively studied; I think since they're both Lilly products, Symbyax is a way to get a new product when one of the parts (the Prozac) is generic.

Anyway, I guess I'll just have to hop on the medical merry-go-round to find an augmenting drug for the Abilify.
