In reply to Nardil diet question - ham? bacon? lunchmeat?, posted by 4WD on February 22, 2008, at 20:44:58
> I have thoroughly looked over the standard list of prohibited foods and at Elizabeth's short list. No where is ham, or bacon listed. Is it okay to eat ham and bacon? What about those little packages of lunchmeat that come in a pouch - ham, beef, chicken, turkey, etc.?

Although I've never had a reaction to it, I suspect that alot of smoked bacon from supermarkets aren't really smoked but rather just given that flavour, especially the cheaper stuff. But I'm no expert in food manufacturing so not 100% sure. But if you KNOW its been authentically smoked then I'd stay away.
And of course make sure its all fresh & not past its sell-by date.
