I did not find him to say that at all.I believe his main point was he now feels confident not to be socialy petrafied to talk to woman.
When social avoidance has your stumbling over your words when talking to a woman, the transition of actualy being your self and speaking freely, maybe even joking,or slight flirt is a incredable feeling, and thats what i got out of his post, how happy he is to be social for a change and the freedom he feels.
I say this as a opinion nothing more, but it seemed as though your were discredting his treatment and instead advising cbt.
Letting him know of the beinifts of cbt and presenting is as a option is great,i just feel you seemed to discredit his treatment and instead advocate over it cbt.
I have followed this fellows posts and felt his dispair and urgency, and im very happy he found some reliaf.I also give him kudos for being very cautious and careful when he spoke of a very dangerous topic such as the sexual part of his recent body.
There is no cure,no correct treatment, just trial and error, and options, and personaly if someone finds any option to bring some form of relieaf without bodly harm i comend them and envy them lol.
Cheers hope your success continues.
fyi My personal opinion here, which is all it is nothing more and no disrespect intended,is backed by being a serious lifter myself.
> Brief comment offhand, the type of thinking that says women will only be interested in you if your body is a certain way is neurotic. It will worsen depression, and is not even true -- response from the opposite sex is usually far more a function of, for instance, confidence. You might want to look into Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, honestly. Now, I'm friends and research buddies with a number of bodybuilders, and I definitely support it if the mind is healthy about it all. I think the hobby/way-of-life/what-have-you tends to attract a lot of neurotic individuals, though (not my observation, but from one of the bodybuilders -- Dante on mindandmuscle).
