Now, I'm friends and research buddies with a number of bodybuilders, and I definitely support it if the mind is healthy about it all. I think the hobby/way-of-life/what-have-you tends to attract a lot of neurotic individuals, though (not my observation, but from one of the bodybuilders -- Dante on mindandmuscle).
Um hate to break it you mister ''you need cognitive behavioural therapy'' but i have seen the difference first hand.
When I put on weight and worked out a lot... and the protien changed the way my face looked (unlike a kid anymore) women would notice and all of a sudden instead of being ignored by women I would be drooled over because of my appearance.
Appearance is the first thing a person sees (in real life) and that is what can lead to conversation and more.
This is reality as people are naturally more attracted to people whom look more appealing.
So yes I'll continue to take care of my body thanks.
