Now to histamine, its a case of causation is not causality and reverse research. Overingestion or poisoning by compounds such as promethazine and Actifed (pseudoephedrine) have been case reported in scientific journals as causation of psychosis. This isn't terribly surprising as pseudoephedrine is distantly related to amphetamine and promethazine is a rather old antihistamine without modern methods of testing. Same with anything that has any remote relation to belladona.
Histidine supplements, also alternative drugs, amino acids.
There are literally millions of people out there walking around with Claritin in them. There aren't vast reports of mental illness, nor are there vast reports of mental illness in people who have allergies who need something like Allegra. That's a bit of a stretch.

If you've already got a genetic neurochemical imbalance I imagine playing with lithium without a license could do something odd.
Electrolytes as we know them -- sodium and potassium, and to an extent calcium, are vital to the body's functioning. Its why when you've vomited or have diarrhea it is recommended to drink something like Gatorade or even more balanced, Pedialyte or the like. All the above affect heart function, intracellular transmission, etc.
