YES.

If you want to excite all of the neurotransmitters, and this can be done for the no joy in life type of depression, take histadine supplements which convert directly to histamine. Not recommended if there is even a hint of allergy.

Unsusually high histamine as well as unusually low histamine are both linked to psychosis and depression. This is actually one of the primary things the Pfeiffer Institute tests for when treating psychiatric patients. Their information on a net search is worth exploring.

The question though is why would histamine be too high or too low? Genetic defect. Immune system malfunction. Heavy metal burden/toxicity.
