Trivestal Retard: Day 1.

Posted by Mishal on November 7, 2007, at 5:46:38

Trivastal Retard 50mg

I took my first dose with dinner. After about an hour or so, my tummy started to react oddly. It was expected and bearable.

Soon after this, I became increasingly ill-tempered. I feel this irritability usually at retiring hours since I am on Provigil, but it was like Trivestal added to the bad temper. I felt like going out of my flat and yelling at those poor guys down the road. I didn’t; because I know what is wrong. I have taken a powerful dopaminergic.

Gradually irritability became worse and I feared it will soon show the way to agitation. Not waiting for this to happen, I chewed two lorazepam tablets. (I was off benzos for some days for a reason, but had kept them reserved for occasions like this.) Irritability began to cease and I went to bed. Slept like a baby.

I woke up feeling something unusual. I was afraid I will have to take my lorazepam again in the morning but surprisingly, I felt quite relaxed. Cool and friendly to my surroundings. This could not be the effect of lorazepam considering its relatively short half life.

As the day progressed, I became more tranquil and at ease. Definitely not energized or activated. But a sense of calmness; that no benzos could offer so far. This was totally opposite to what I experienced overnight right after dosing Trivestal.

Now, it is evening here, and I am still peaceful and serene. A slight elevation of mood, but that is indistinguishable since I am on Provigil too. So far apart from the relaxing effect, Trivestal hasn’t added any further benefits to Provigil in its invigorating effect. This was not what I anticipated. In fact, I started Trivastal expecting it to augment Provigil, so that I can lower my Provigil. But I think I will have to wait more for this effect.

That’s all for now, I will keep you updated. Meanwhile, if any of you are taking Trivastal, please let me know how long I should have to wait to get to the alerting, energizing effect of this drug. I saw a poster earlier in one said it could be as soon as a week later. Do you know?

My current cocktail:

Provigil 300mg in divided doses.
Prozac 10 mg every other day. ( I will soon come off this med)
Ativan 2mg or Xanax 1mg. Only occasionally.
Cozaar 100mg (An anti-hypertensive drug) in divided doses.
Neurontin 600mg in divided doses.
Metformin 1000mg (An anti-diabetic, anti-obesity drug)

Cheers.
