My soultion, although I'd rather find a better one is
1. Ambien
2. Last dextroamphet (short-acting) pill no later than 6 pm, preferably 5 pm. Sometimes I take only 1/2 a dose.
3. If I run out of stim too much before bedtime, I switch to caffiene, which gets out of my system in less than 2 hours.
4. I take my lexapro about 1 hour before bedtime with a light snack. I don't know if that helps, but it is what I do -- it is possible to be on SSRI and stims at the same time.

Also, oddly, I've noted that if I drink before bed (never more than a glass of wine) I need more Ambien to get me to sleep. I think, but am not sure, that this started when I switched from ritalin to dextroamphet.
