From what I understand, some antidepressants have a higher propensity to cause suicidial ideation than others.
If so, it is important to know which ones, as they might not be the best first choice for a very suicidal/agitated person.
The big deal is not that a particular drug has this side effect. That alone could be noted, with according changes to prescription. The discusting part is when a company knows that their drug has this potential, and knowingly hides that information.
Let the lives of the children who have taken their life due to paxil be on thier shoulders.
While perhaps not every suicide can be prevented by a strong clear warning, it should certainly reduce the risk, and increase the necessary monitoring of at risk patients.
