I totally agree with what med_empowered wrote below.

And if the patient didn't need to be hospitalized, then that was considered success? What a joke. My disdain for high powered over paid bureaucratic doctors grows. I know there are good ones. Where are they? Surely there are doctors with the TALENT to get patients well enough that they not only stay out of the hospital, but they get jobs and work and get married and stuff.

People hate depot injections because they are degrading, inhumane, and have worse side effects than the pills. Perhaps they should save money spent on neuroleptics forced on people and develop new drugs. Or...try out existing drugs, like lithium and depakote. Or...house people and reduce poverty.
