From what I recall of what I've read, I think that 50 mg - 300 mg is what's usually used for depression... as well as for negative psychotic symptoms. For positive symptoms, the dose is much higher - the same pattern as for amisulpride.

...fwiw, I just took a look at Scott's (a.k.a. SLS) web page [ http://sl.schofield3.home.att.net/medicine/psychiatric_drugs_chart.html ] & he's got 50-200 mg Sulpiride for use as an antidepressant.

I think one way you may be able to tell if you get your dose too high, is that it will make you sleepy. Should that happen, I'd try backing the dose down, perhaps 50 mg at a time, for a couple of days at each level, until you lose the sedation. ...just a thought - good luck.
