I would go to a urologist. I have had the same problem, and it turned out to be urethral stenosis. I had to have my bladder dilated, which wasn't as bad as it sounds. This was a year ago. Now when I have the symptoms you described, it is usually a urinary tract infection, which I am prone to.
Maybe this isn't the route you want to go....just my 2 cents.
