Nortriptyline

Posted by tensor on September 22, 2006, at 1:16:16

Hi all, i've been off this forum for quite awhile. I take remeron 15mg and nortrip for depression and clonazepam 2mg for anxiety. I started with nortrip for about one and a half years ago, it was 75mg that finally got me out of depression, then after several months i had a relapse and raised to 100mg. I have done so several time until i was at max dose of 150mg, but now the day has come when i need to go beyond 150mg, i talked to my pdoc and i'm raising to 175mg and i will take a blood test next week.
Will this keep on until i can't raise anymore, i.e. blood level will go over 150ng/ml? I know that the max dose is *recommended* and it's the blood level that is important, but still, will i ultimately hit the ceiling? Wonder what happens then.. With all trial and error, i think it's safe to say that i respond to noradrenergic drugs like nortrip and remeron.
Do i need a switch soon? And to what.

Appreciate replies,
Mattias
